Changing the Thought

The process is simple.  Change the channel.  That’s what you do when watching a boring or offensive program on television.  When you surf the myriad of stations beaming into your radio you move past those that irritate your ears.  Rather than listen to a station that aggravates your senses, you simply tune in to another station more pleasing.

It is natural to seek similar company.  Birds of a feather do flock together.  Whatever has your attention will increase.  Even Facebook knows that.  Of course, if you continue to “like” things that disturb you, then you’ll encounter more disturbing things.  Being aware of your attention is a magnificent tool – it allows you to change the channel and tune-out irritations.  It allows you to give attention to what you like and desire, rather than what disturbs and angers you.

By being aware of how/what you are thinking, you have the power to direct your thinking.  In effect, you are in control of your life.  This is in stark contrast to those who have a meager awareness of how/what they are thinking.  The former acts, the latter reacts.  The former allows others to choose for themselves, the latter feels victimized.  The former can change the channel.  The latter is stuck in one position on the dial.

Thoughts define what we call Consciousness.  The absence of thinking is a state of un-consciousness.  Marginal awareness of thinking results in semi-consciousness.  A conscious decision is a powerful thing.  Thought is energy.  Thought has power to attract similar thoughts and to influence thought creation.

It is a form of inductionThe process by which an electrical conductor becomes electrified when near a charged body, by which a magnetizable body becomes magnetized when in a magnetic field or in the magnetic flux set up by a magnetomotive force, or by which an electromotive force is produced in a circuit by varying the magnetic field linked with the circuit.  Radio.  Television.  Smart phones.  The same electro-magnetic process works with thoughts.

You’ve experienced it.  You entered a room, or a building, where people were gathered and “sensed” the atmosphere.  Uplifting.  Oppressive.  Whichever thought was dominate among the people is what was induced to you, a.k.a. sixth sense, intuition, hunch, and so forth.  It’s a fine and subtle communication, much like looking at your phone a split second before it sounds.  Perhaps you found yourself staring at something but didn’t know why.  Later, there was a reason for that earlier attention (sometimes finding a lost item, realizing that you really should have taken that umbrella.)  These sensations are not magical or supernatural, they are perfectly normal aspects of variations of induction.

How best to manage this powerful force that is thought?  Be aware that you are thinking and that you have both authority and ability to shift your thoughts (attention) to anything.  Your thoughts attract similar frequency thoughts.  Since every thought, ever thought, still exists in the Universe, your thinking has a great alliance.  The alliance is neutral – your attention will increase whether you’re focused on something pleasing or something distressing.

If you do not believe that thoughts attract similar thoughts, then you will discover lots of instances to validate that thought.

A Reminder of How it Works.

Thus the self-defeating language of "I've GOT to lose weight," or "I MUST eat less," or...well, you get the idea.  Just as you instinctively RESIST being ordered, so do the cells in your body system.  Think the thought of what you WANT - which is to feel good.  See previous post below.

Aha!

Why do you enjoy being around certain people?  You know, you feel good when they're around.  There's more energy and delight when they're around.  The sensation is evident, but what's going on?

Induction

c: the process by which an electrical conductor becomes electrified when near a charged body, by which a magnetizable body becomes magnetized when in a magnetic field or in the magnetic flux set up by a magnetomotive force, or by which an electromotive force is produced in a circuit by varying the magnetic field linked with the circuit.  (Merriam-Webster)

I've highlighted what I believe is the operative phrase - near a charged body.  Electrical induction describes a process of transference of energy or force through space.  This principle holds vast promise for accessing electricity.  Even more important, it helps explain such elusive phenomena as "mental telepathy," the healing factor of "prayer," as well as the sensation felt when in the presence of a charged personality.

Presumptions include
·         Energy is a vibration
·         Thought is energy
·         Vibration has a frequency
·         Energy can be transmitted

The bottom line is that we are vibrational beings and being such, can participate in induction.  There is value in feeling good - it has an effect on others.  In a sense, the best thing you can do for someone is enjoy yourself.  The reverse is also true - that you can be influenced by the frequencies emitted by others.  This is the sensation of entering a building, a room, a structure and having a "sense" of it - either pleasant or dismal.  Literally, it is vibrating, the vibrations at least in part the result of induction from other people.  Now, this gets to be fun when we realize this means we have a degree, perhaps a lot, of control over our experience.

Thought is the most inherent component of ourselves and we have the ability to chose, select if you will, how we think.  The way we think affects our interpretation of what we sense around us and how we project to others.   The implications are marvelous.

Thinking About Thoughts

It's said that every thought, ever thought, exists.  Granted, that celestial repository is elusive, but not necessarily impossible.  Is it possible that the energy produced by thinking imprints a quantum fabric so fine that, like our nose, looms before us?

We humans have always wanted to preserve our observations, knowledge, and wisdom.  The universe may do that by default and perhaps some of our distant ancestors knew this.  But in the meantime, they had to invent language - to translate thoughts "inside the head" to the ears of those apart.  Then they told stories, and their children re-told the stories and so on.  Yet, as with every generation, since Eden, the youth were sending their inheritance to hell in a hand basket.  To protect the integrity of their thoughts they learned to inscribe symbols in stone or other more permanent manner.  Let the foolish youth mess with that!  There was value in having previous thoughts (aka learning) available.  As one wag put it, "invent the wheel once, not a gazillion times."  But I digress.

Now our thoughts are kept for what may be a forever in the cloud of cyber space.  Recently I read some emails sent long ago from my late father.  His gentle and delightful musings exist, available to those with access.  I had to think of our own postings on Facebook, Twitter, emails, and such, placed in that weird realm of frequency imprint.  In that sense, thoughts have become immortal.

That realization prompts the admonition "post not that which you may regret."  Not quite an edict from a prophet, but it seems to have common ground with the ancient adages - be deliberate in your thinking for it lives beyond your temporal experience.  Your grandmother told you that -  if you can't say something nice about someone then don't say anything at all.  Or, as your humble writer would posit, what do you want as a result of your thinking?  It's a heady thought.

In a sense we are the product of who-knows-how-long of thinking.  We're adding to that body of thought/energy.  What do we want?  What kind of world do we wish to bestow upon the upcoming generation?  What labors to invent another wheel may be spared? They'll create their own world, as we created ours, for sure.

Yet, when considering all that we've thought, from a higher realm, it would be nice to know that our efforts, our thoughts, helped create a better life experience.  That can only be accomplished now - in this moment.  I'm sure my late parents are doing that in their own manner.  It just may be that the celestial frequency is getting closer and closer...
